Freedom

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

There is no freedom in freedom,
Only more shackles and chains.
The only freedom is in the Truth
And there it shall remain!

Forever and ever and then for a day,
You will only find it when you walk in the Way.
There you discover it though gripped and held tight,
You’ll be held there forever by His mighty right.

Now walking in obedience as true children of God,
And trotting around on His holy sod.
Oh, how much more joy, His glory abounds,
Because on this day by Christ you’ve been found!
