Drinking Buddies

People come and people go
We all were made to pass
But some just never see its time
To put away the flask

You should not spend your youth
In drunken orgies, shame and lust
But if you do just keep in mind
You’ll soon return to dust

Your mother cannot help you
And your brothers rarely care
So often times you try to hide
So, you won’t have to share

It’s better not to drink at all
If what you drink is bitter
Or drink so much that you can’t stand
And end up on a litter

If you believe the message
That the world is out there preaching
Then you might never come inside
To hear your Father’s teaching
