The Hardest Thing

The Hardest Thing
By Nancy Rodriquez

The most romantic day of the year has now passed,
and I thought out of all couples, we would last,
It was the hardest thing I had to endure,
When we first began, our love was pure,
until it was lost along the path of life,
yet in my heart, I am your wife,
You have shattered our future dreams,
by holding on to unforgiveness, it would seem,
For you, moving on is easy without looking back,
to see what you have lossed, by the way you act,
There is no shame I can see from this end,
Everything falls on deaf ears, and you take offense,
Knowing you the way I do, you avoid a face to face,
You hate to see me cry, the tears rolling , it is hard to keep the faith,
You won't allow for me to find any closure,
and remain cold as ice, I am left without a cure,
or a say in this matter at all,
The hardest thing is you did not catch me, you let me fall.
