What's Wrong With the World

People think they’re like the stars
That their mess is only beautiful from afar
Or perhaps the moon cracked, cratered, and bruised
They wish to become the sun and disappear in the night
They keep the true them out of sight
But their mess is beautiful like a mosaic
So why does the world refuse to say it
It leaves them crying for help in silence
Wishing the rest of the world would go quiet
All they want is someone to listen, someone to hear
Someone who knows their secrets and still wants to be near
Too many times the world has fallen short
Too many times it’s left them more sore
So they lock everyone out and shut the door
Now people wonder why they're not happy anymore
It’s the world's fault and always will be
Cause it teaches you the only thing important is what can be seen
What they perceive
It doesn’t teach you how to look within
It teaches how to look thin
It doesn’t teach how to love yourself
It teaches you you have to be pretty enough to go on a shelf
No one can match this, not while being true
So they will continue to torture themselves until their blue
This is what's wrong with the world, what’s wrong with society
We look for beautiful not liability
We look at how you're presented, and no further
At what the worlds destroyed for us observers
