The End of Acceptance

Why
Won’t my hand let go?
Holding on for dear life
To what is no longer

I hold on even though

It is a limp body
No more breath
In the lungs
The heart has lost its beat

 the skin now
 becomes cold

My heart is cold
My heart is empty

I don’t want to accept

that this is the end

You think I'm over-emotional

You just don’t understand
How it makes me feel

hearing you say
"This is the end..."

I must not have been good enough

Or there’s always someone better

But to me you were
                    My heart's end

You call me obsessed
Go ahead
Call me whatever else
I know that all it is
Was that
           that was
and is

Never wanted to let go

How I wish
I had another

To give my heart
to give my mind

But I’ve lost my energy
I’ve lost my heart

 perhaps it is being buried

I look down

As the casket is lowered into the ground

I turn
And walk from there

Theres no Acceptance
only
A Dead End
