The Story (Abuse)
DUFF 1999 (Worcester)
1. It's all roses and light
when we met,
sweet something and four-letter word
LOVE.
2. Your hands were warm
and soft at the same time.
Heart beating like a rhythm
your words were your truth
maybe that's why I believed you
when you said you're SORRY.
3. Your hands touched my skin
and left a mark and saw it "as a mistake, a slip of a moment"
Your hands pushed me against the wall
to the floor, and it was my fault.
My face had too much to say
I knew you didn't mean to do that.
4. All the bones in me cracked
and I forgave you while you
were breaking them.
5. Shuttered all the good words surrounded
me, cause your voice was too loud and strong to ignore.
My body become friends with your hands,
my ears were your voice's best friend, while my tears got too tired of falling but they fell anyway.
My voice got stuck, no scream, no voice.
6. Come to think of it, my mistake was not counting how many time you said sorry or how many times you didn't.
I never counted how many times we were happy... I was busy preparing being PERFECT and preventing history from repeating OR maybe I loved the attention, affection and the love language that came after
But now am....
