I had reached your doorstep
I had reached your doorstep,
But why did you turn me back,
For someone don't you have respect,
Is it the respect that you lack?
Why have you been avoiding me for so long,
Have I done something terribly wrong,
I rung your bell and it said ding, ding, dong,
I waited but no answer came for so long.
I have come to meet you this day,
Please don't keep me at bay,
Please come out of your hiding place,
And let me embrace.
Why have you crumpled our friendship like paper,
And threw it in the dustbin,
Like a biscuit wrapper,
Why did you do it my dear Lynn?
Please open up your door,
I wanna talk to you some more,
Come on out and let's see,
Your favorite golden apple tree.
Thank you for finally giving in,
Thank you for letting me in,
Please don't ever throw out friendship in the dustbin,
Please don't ever do it again.
I wish ,
I wish our friendship remains as strong as steel,
So that the people can feel ,
The bond of friendship between us,
The un breakable bond of friendship between us.
About this poem
I wrote this poem because there is a poem in our English book by this name. I saw the title and this poem just came to my mind. But when I saw the book version it was totally different than my version . So , that's how it came to be.
