Free verse
Through our silence and screams,
we see our needs
being ignored
by the ones we seek approval from.

It's hard to stay happy
when they take all your
smiles at
face value.

Why listen
to their promises?
Their "I wish" and "I hope"?
When it never ends up
being true.

About this poem

Just a queer complaining about the government never seeing the pain we go through. This could probably apply to many minorities.
