Mother

Once upon a tear missing home Landed on a foreign palm She mothers streams behind her eyes Sometimes a thunderstorm is a blink far to life, Especially when she is supposed to be sleeping. She once convinced a mirror that a beholder was blind. A mountain tall tale of her youth. A sickening lullaby she rocked herself to sleep with. The first time was with her only lover, and that was the last. She never knew that you could dream with your eyes wide open And still don't get to see it all. She painted her hopes with flying colours when I was born. And never had to await storms to pass to see a rainbow. She speaks only what is left to be said. Amazed at her discovery once, When she pulled out a gray hair. Swallowed hard. She never tasted sweet tears before. A falling mountain of memories, she starred with a blink. Time has grown on her skin to show. Longer years gone to tell of time. She once crossed paths with herself And she was kind to her. Once upon a young girl missing home. Mother.
