Never My Intention
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
It was never my intention.
To keep you suspended,
In a tension.
Just to get your attention.
But I must admit it did work.
And no longer do you think of me,
As just another,
Self serving ego jerk.
Now I have you,
Captivated to believe...
I am more than your average poet.
Capable to take,
Words to create to make...
Something that has no meaning at all.
With a doing to leave your thoughts,
Left to think,
What it is I mean.
Then to ask me to clarify,
A nonsense to describe...
B.S. you discovered that satisfies,
More to address...
You can not leave left to accept it,
For what it is!
'Your words.
And how you express them,
I find to be...
Not only inspirational.
Motivating and prophetic.
Breath taking and awesome.
But...
Can you tell me,
What message you intended...
In my mind to keep?
I would so appreciate,
Your being candid with me!'
'I will do the best I can.
Never drink or eat anything,
Before going to bed.
Or attempt to walk butt naked,
Through your neighborhood,
After midnight.
And concentrated lemon juice,
Is easier to use...
Then squeezing lemons.
Especially if you love the taste,
Of baked salmon.'
'Oh, my God.
You have touch me with your vision.'
'Trust me,
That was never my intention.
But hey,
If it serves a purpose?
That purpose has been well deserved.
Are you...
Crying?'
'You have no idea,
How you have blessed my life.'
'The pleasure is mine.
But may I make a suggestion to you?'
'Oh please, please do!'
'Try leaving your house,
To live your life more.
Many seldom come to realize,
There is a difference between B.S.
And a wealth of reality,
Awaiting around to be found!'
