Look to the Future
A poem.....Look to the Future
I looked to the future as far as I could see...
But for me, there is no eternity.
You have withdrawn your love from me...
I can not awaken for this nightmare, this castrorophy.
Please, oh Angel! Share this darkness with me.
I am down on my knees, I beg and plead.
So lost am I in the chasm of destiny...
My soul is bound to, I am falling into and I can not break free.
The year we spent together, our history
Was despite all the sin and adversity....
The greatest love that I ever felt entirely...
Until you blocked me summarily and angerly.
Oh what a tangled web we weave...
It is more pain than we could have ever conceived
We gave all, but it was what we believed...
And in the final act we could not retrieve
The joy of love. All We had left was grief.
Darkness came and stole love away like a thief.
Now instead of you beside me...
I dance now with the ghost of your memory.
I still need.
I still breath.
So I will now start by planting a seed.
This seed will grow and bear fruit....
As sure as the spread legs of a prostitute.
You don't get, till you give.
That is how we lived.
One day, one John at a time...
To the future, to which we contribute.
Oh! The sordid days of the replays of the moments we spent together....
I wanted "Forever," but it turned into "Never."
I am back like before....before you slammed me with restitution and retaliation.
It's reverberations wash up on the shores of my mind erasing any thoughts of having a good time...like I did when I thought you were mine.
What love has a lover's love found by loving and looking into each other and not around...and so by loving love's love, love can be won, and not undone, and it will weather the storms and snares and pitfalls and we will be called to awaken to dream by dreaming of lovers and loving love...like it is heaven sent from above....
And it is this dream that we dream upon and nurture...as we look anew...unto a new future.
