On The Death Bed

Meshack Bwoyele Keya 1960 (Vihiga)

The goethic figure floated in the air
It hovered espying the figure on the death bed
"It was not in any way so fair"
The floating figure saw red
None thought the two were a pair
Always sleeping on one bed so spread

Togetherness now was past tense
The two forever separated like unlike poles
Though sleep seemed only a pretence
The floating figure will soon join celestial souls
Many termed it death in its essence
The soul separated from the body for the ghouls
