Analysis of Transformation

Who can know the price of growth?
Spirit, taking full control,
slowly, heartaches, shame and pain,
flushed like dirt down the drain.

As to you, old carnal man,
God has chosen His own plan-
throwing, spinning, pressing hard,
His the finish line, yours the start.

Oh the suff'ring, oh the pain,
three times losing, one time gain,
Lord, how long, how much delay
till self-will and pride be slain?

Not in wind that shatters stones,
not in earthquake, thunder, storm
but on mount- top God alone
whispers to the waiting soul.

Then, upon the longing heart
glowing coals to ashes turn,
vision borne on eagle's wings
soars in circles wide.
