Analysis of A Night of Long Ago
Not in a noisy inn, but in a quiet stable
was a Baby born,
not in a royal court but in stillness of thought
is truth welcomed in.
The shepherds saw the vision,
humility beheld the sign,
the herald of a birth,
foretold by prophets long ago,
God's promise-- love fulfilled.
A star, afar and lone traverses night,
on earth, Heaven's glory comes to sight.
