Analysis of The old woman of the birds

She wandered about the streets
Of the city and there were not
Many days that she could not
Be seen whatever the weather.
~
Her self-imposed duty to feed
The wildlife- mainly birds whose
Number were varied and many
Picking around to gather food.
~
Yes, at her age it was something
She welcomed- something to do
But in truth she bore a personal
Love for the wild ones…
~
Blackbirds, Crows, Seagulls, Robins,
Starlings, Jackdaws, varied coloured
Tits and more who in time bore her
Image within feathered covered heads.
~
So much so that in due course they
Appeared to have recorded the time
And the place of her appearances
During her feeding schedule.
~
Also in time her activity became well
Known to many locals and visitors
Which nurtured in their minds
Their desire to observe.
~
And when the time comes to depart
From life’s journey many who observed
Her bird feeding activity will in fondness
Recall the old woman of the birds.
