Analysis of The Protestant Republican

THE PROTESTANT REPUBLICAN.
~~~
I am proud to be a Protestant
As I am proud to be Irish
As I am proud to be a republican
In the pursuit of Irish freedom.
~
This admission I now make for we
Are victims of religious propaganda
Formed in order to ensure the
Continuing partition of our nation.
~
In time upon reflection I thought
Of the ‘Orange’ position- a position
Engendering hatred which is contrary
To our Creator who is the source of love…
~
Confirming that Christianity was being
Used by imperialists to support British
Military occupation and the evil reality
Of political partition…
~
But now as I overcome the lies of
Imperial propagandists I am convinced
That my decision will in time ensure a united
Nation in the steps of fellow Protestants such
As our martyred Ronnie Bunting of Belfast:
Who bravely followed in the footsteps of the
Protestant founder of Irish Republicanism-
Theobald Wolfe Tone.
