Gort An Anama

Akin to fairy music
A river lures
To a quiet woodland
In an Irish vale,
A place of joy
From early childhood:
Gort An Anama of the Gael.

"Oh, Gort An Anama beside
The Roe Tír Na Sorcha you
Were to me, a place of
Mystical riches helping
An enquiring soul to see.

And as I age I sense your
Presence- the peaceful solitude
Of each path where more than once
I sought repose alongside the foliage
Of your Rath.

There unravelling in those decades
Various problems in your domain
Strolling solitary by the Spring Well
Or resting by the Rock of Kane..."

Oh!  I will answer the river's calling
To that quiet haven of the Roe Vale
Drawing near a source of memories
To Gort An Anama of the Gael.
