Analysis of Raptured

Oh whit a woe, but oh whit a joy
When wan angel came
Tae save wan little boy

Guid vapour flit frae a sky tae be
Tae salve a spirit sare tae flee
Frae this fleshy vial that I call me

Tho’ it wuid’nae matter if I died this day
Fir the Lord gi’es an’ the Lord takes away

Then the heevens spil’t o’er an’ thundered aboot
An’ a voice spoke wordlessly an’ said
‘Take aw the guid yins oot’

An’ oot came the raptured wi’ nae oonce mair blame
An’ put the lost an’ the damned
Fir aw that tae shame

Tho’ it wuid’nae matter if I died this day
Fir the Lord gi’es an’ the Lord takes away
