Analysis of To Carry Me Home

In the middle of the storm
  you were a beacon,
  calling me onward

A lighthouse reaching out
 into the fog,
 giving me hope

When seas were rough
 and days long,
 you kept my tiller straight

Setting my course anew
 toward a promised harbor,
 just beyond the waves

With salvation waiting
 past the rocky shoals,
 and dangerous seas

I hoist every sail
 against your heavenly wind,
—to carry me home
