Analysis of With love, there is no free will

She once called you a leader, rose up to
the occasion then, saw the problems clear
Didn't mind indulging, my anxiety
allow a thank you, for a sincere ear

Feel dishonest, the art of omission
when I've thought over, our entire future
Today could be our anniversary
in a awkward position, yet mature

Enough to deal with the tower moments
If I could delve deep into those blue eyes
My soul could over explain this downfall
The fact this dream I sold myself was lies

See you then, figure of authority
as they honestly do nothing for me

About this poem

About falling for someone that can't possibly work and having a version in your head of them. Then coming to find that the reality switches that right off. However you are already so far down the rabbit hole you can only think of nice things about them. So you reluctantly try to use one of them to defend yourself from the rejection.
