Analysis of Aftershock
Your conversations weigh heavy on me,
Every word spoken came with an aftershock of anxiety.
I’ve been trying to breathe without oxygen,
In this underwater labyrinth you’ve called your own.
Tidal waves fill my lungs with questions never answered.
Yet there’s no room for me here.
I’m suffocating in your presence.
Your fingertips feel like poison beneath my skin,
Every touch caressed me like velvet sheets.
I am drowning;
Anchors chained against my feet.
An overstimulating whirlpool of unexplainable emotions.
The mere thoughts of you distract me.
Overreaching for a passion all too consuming.
It’s all too overwhelming.
Your body isn’t everything,
Etched and painted on like an artistic masterpiece.
Your lips have written upon our pages a smile worthy of the ages,
Till death do us part is the only words mine can reciprocate.
The aftershock of your recent confession,
Left me feeling unprepared for the next few chapters.
This book of us can never be released publicly.
A challenge in which I must admit defeat.
Your conversations weigh heavy on me,
Maybe one day I’ll let this love breathe freely
