Hvor Nordhavets Bølge slaaer høit paa Strand
Om de sorte Vrag i det hvide Sand,
Hvor Landet staaer halvt som et Paradiis,
Halvt viser kun Lyngens sorte Riis,
Der bygger en Lærke, den synger godt,
Den ligner — sig selv og Walter Scott;
Den skildrer Jyden og Jydens Land,
Man kalder den der Peer Spillemand.
