Analysis of Hvil sødt

Hans Christian Andersen 1805 (Odense) – 1875 (Copenhagen)

Hvil sødt!
Som var Du lagt i Dødens Skriin
Du min Erindrings Rose faur og fiin,
Du er ei Verdens meer, Du er kun min;
For Dig jeg synger, mine Taarer trille,
Natten er smuk, Natten er stille; -

Dødt! — Alt er dødt!

Hvil sødt!
Hvert Barn i Ly af „Fader vor",
Du Lidende, i Søvnen Sundhed groer,
Og Du som elsker, haaber, barnligt troer,
Gid ingen Drøm Dig ved Din Lykke skille;
Natten er smuk, Natten er stille; -
Dødt! — Alt er Dødt! -
