Analysis of I’m Not Perfect

Dawn Renee Hill 1973 (Panama City, Florida)

I know I’m not perfect.
Oh, how i wish i was.
Perfect in what you wanted
in all ways for you because....
My heart can’t get over you
and my mind can’t wrap around...
the idea that we’re not together
and that you don’t want me around.
It hurts to breathe sometimes
when i think about your smile.
So I just retreat to my room
and sit alone for awhile.
I come out with a laugh,
a smile painted on my face,
Hiding from everyone,
the pain that i can’t erase.
I cant stop loving you...
What is done is done.
I know you don’t want me.
I know I’m not your ONE.
I’ll always be in your corner.
I’ll always have your back.
I’ll always be right here
to make up for things ‘they’ lack.
I’m not perfect, you know,
And one of my greatest flaws,
Is even when it’s not wanted,
i’ll still give you my all.
