Analysis of Above the rest

The brighter I burn the less you care,
I suspect you secretly just prefer despair,
I give and I give, and beg like a dog,
I try to be the beacon and get lost in the fog,
I search far and wide for what I desire,
Seems like I've run out of fuel for my fire,
When Im gone don't ever forget,
In a sea of monsters I was above all the rest.
