Analysis of Where were you?

Where were you?

Where were you?
When they cut the cord,
in the local hospital ward
where were you on the day ,
when they took mummy away

Where were you ?
When I moved from home to home poor child, all alone
where were you on the mornings, when the grey skies were yawning, and my feet pounding
as I ran from the scoldings

Where were you ?
when I screamed?
when every time
it was not what it seemed

Where were you
when I cried?
when every time
I LIED

Where were you?
on the day
they threw the keys away
as I wiped my tears,
no more fears
FINALLY
someone hears
Where were you, Dad? Where were you?
