Analysis of Soir religieux (II)
Emile Verhaeren 1855 (Sint-Amands) – 1916 (Rouen)
Vers une lune toute grande,
Qui reluit dans un ciel d'hiver
Comme une patène d'or vert,
Les nuages vont à l'offrande.
Ils traversent le firmament,
Qui semble un choeur plein de lumières
Où s'étageraient des verrières
Lumineuses obscurément,
Si bien que ces nuits remuées
Mirent au fond de marais noirs,
Comme en de colossaux miroirs,
La messe blanche des nuées.
