Analysis of As if
As if there were something between us
Not arising out of sleepless nights
Long Drives or Secret rendezvous
I dreamed I was combing your hair in the shower; It was so tangled as were you
As I attempted to unravel
Each hair became a word for me to unravel
Then You turned to unwind my eyes
from all the pictures they held through the yrs
That you slipped between my fingers
Like dropped compassions
Twirling around my legs to disappear down the drain
I awoke distraught to a white ceiling sparkle
unable to go back to sleep
Simply Smiling wondering if somewhere
you were still in the shower.
