The very first poem I memorised was in the fourth grade. It was by Langston Hughes. It’s called Hold Fast To Dreams. Rhythmic thinking is so captivating to me. I have been writing poetry for 30 years. It’s one of my biggest dreams to inspire young people the way the poets of yore inspired me.
