Autumn’s Blessed Release

Natasha Price 1979 (Tampa)

Let not the day be done
Let it flicker in the wind
A clear and pressing shroud
Locks of gold transcend

Feel the Fire of fall
Let it tingle in your veins
The nectar is now sweet
In Young forgotten brains

The Madrigal I sing
Is blessed amongst the trees
A fallen sated sadness
Enticed by Mountain Breeze

My tongue is tempted softly
To taste its mothers milk
Pressed from ripened breast
An emblem soft as silk

I smell the aroma brewing
I waste no time to find
A heart scattered by the seasons
That fall had left behind

About this poem

I wrote this in the Autumn of 2021.I was sitting at the Barnes and Nobel in Tampa Florida drinking a latte.it was in between 4&5 pm.The light in the sky was fracturing.I could feel the dimming of the day. These words from my soul with very little effort matriculated to the page.

I have been writing poetry for 30 years. It’s one of my biggest dreams to inspire young people the way the poets of yore inspired me. more…
