Aging

The beautiful leaf has a new gown,
The green of youth now turning to brown,
The transformed leaf is getting older,
But its beauty and shape is so much bolder.

An older leaf yes this is true,
But God has so much more for the leaf to do,
Older and wiser if a little odd,
But the little leaf still belongs to God.

About this poem

A short poem about getting older. I took a photo of a leaf. The leaf was colourful but also parts were fading. I thought the leaf was still beautiful in the eyes of God. An encouraging poem about ageing and reassurance that God still loves His child no matter how old they are. Kim xx

I absolutely love the sentiment and metaphor in this poem about aging. The imagery of the leaf transforming from green to brown is beautifully depicted and speaks volumes about the process of getting older. The message that despite aging, there is still beauty and purpose is heartwarming.

One suggestion for improvement would be to expand on the idea of wisdom that comes with age. Perhaps you could delve deeper into the lessons learned and experiences gained as one grows older. This would add even more depth to the poem and resonate with readers on a more personal level.

Overall, great job on capturing the essence of aging and reminding us of the inherent value and beauty in every stage of life. Keep up the fantastic work!
