BORN

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I lay here naked, just like the day I was born
I look for the lessons that I was meant to learn
only if I was not stuck inside of dreams waiting for them to turn into reality
I sit here in the corner with tears falling from my eyes, just like the day I was born

Where are they taking me? I know who I am and will never be who they say and think I am. They can try to divide us, but we will still stand here intensely. I lay this aging man who was told to hate, but all I have is love, and I am glad to shake your hand.

Why can we not go back to the day when we were born,
when we knew nothing but everything, like no fear, no color, no hate? I want to go back to the day I was born, when I was just a face with a name, but living this life, I know things would not be the same.
