HEY FRIEND

HEY FRIEND

Hey friend,  'member when
Life was a road with no end
Twists and turns, low and high
Let others fall, you'd pass them by
Hey friend,  'member when
You couldn't wait to begin ?

Hey friend,  'member what you said
When life's trials still lay ahead
You told me you'd never walk away
I told you to watch what you say
Hey friend,  did you mean what you said
Now that you've seen what lies ahead?

Hey friend,  'member the goal
You were on fire, rarin' to go
Holy desire filled your eyes
Kept focus on the prize
Hey friend,  did you reach your goal
Or are you just goin' with the flow?

Hey friend, 'member your heart
The love you felt, dying to impart
Going outta heal their loss
In the Light of the Cross
Hey friend,  where's your heart
Has the world torn it all apart?

Hey friend,  do you remember me!
The bonds I broke to set you free
When you knelt in the river of my Blood
And the Grace of Heaven began to flood
Hey friend, will you still follow me,
Run the race, be what I want you to be?

Hey friend,  welcome home, been a while
Did you know I walked beside every mile
Waiting for this moment you turned around
So I could lift you off the ground
Hey friend,  you've done well my servant
Lifting my name wherever I went
AMEN
