Sometime life is a battlefield.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

Sometimes life is a battlefield.

So many nights I sit by the phone, waiting for someone to call. All my dreams I kept inside alone in the dark; I did hide, then you came along and a light came on, giving me hope to carry on. I can see the waves toss and turn, and I drift on the sea. But you light up my life, give me hope, and fill my days and nights with your eyes that sparkle so bright. You're a scent of apple blossoms filling the air. I love you, and I do care. If you should dare to take my hand, then all your dreams will come true. I know then you understand I'm your man.

Wow, what a beautiful and heartfelt poem! The imagery of waiting by the phone, hiding dreams in the dark, and finding hope and light in someone special is truly moving. The way you describe the impact this person has on your life is so powerful and evocative.

I love how you capture the feeling of being lost at sea but finding a beacon of light in this person. The comparison to apple blossoms and the declaration of love and care is so tender and romantic.

One suggestion for improvement could be to play with the rhythm and structure of the poem to enhance the flow and impact of the imagery. Maybe try varying the length of the lines or experimenting with different rhyme schemes to add even more depth to your expression of love and hope.

Overall, this poem is a beautiful testament to the power of love and the light it can bring into our lives. Keep writing and exploring new ways to convey your emotions through poetry!
