A Bad Day, A Good Night

A Bad Day, A Good Night

I’ve worked hard all day
Rough hands, tired feet
Answering the phone
Listening to upset voices
Constant stressful work issues.

Lunchtime is here
Didn’t eat breakfast, starved
Food comes, server plops it on the table
Don’t wanna go off on her
Like I did to someone the other day.

Home at last, slippers waiting for me
I can hear the sound of bath water running
Bubbles everywhere, soft music playing
I find you in bed looking like, Adonis
You beckon me to come to you, towel drops
My bad day turns into a good night.

About this poem

Workers have hard days at work sometimes, but it always feels so good to come home and have a good night.
