the building blocks of Babel,
one through twenty-six

night and with it rest
ever slowly always comes
exchanging burdens

nest on gravel roof,
killdeer feigns a crippled's wound,
to the ledge then gone

sidewalk debacle,
March's fissure-creeper thrives,
dandelion bloom

swiftly skipping stone
on river's green reflecting,
the crimson cardinal
