Another birthday without you

As the clock strikes at the stroke of midnight,
I put out a candle in your honor, and set it alight.
With tears in my eyes i look through  the many photos I have of you,
my mind goes back to fond memories, old and new.
Another birthday i have to celebrate without you,
someday I will have to accept this reality,of you being gone, is actually true.
Tears start rolling down my cheeks, from my saddened eyes,
as I try conceal my sorrow and pain desperatly trying to conceal my cries.
Wishing you were here,
wishing you were near.
I realise just how much i need to feel your embrace,
as I wipe the  remaining tears , from my face.
I need my dad right now, more than ever,
there are only precious memories I have of you now, that I desperately treasure.
There is so much emptiness consuming my broken heart,
losing you was so unexpected and tore my world apart.
What I would give to have just one more day with you,
as it feels like the years we had together were far to few.
I wish you yet another heavenly ,Happy birthday,
just wishing you could come back home
to forever stay.
One day I hope we will be reunited together  again,
lovingly, you will remain in my heart until then.
You left me with the gift of unconditional love,
I can feel your star is always shining ever so brightly, just for me, from above.
