A Hazy Dream

When I look at you
I fall into your mirage
as a thirsty crow in a desert for water
The heat haze turns me blind every day
burning my desire to see you each day
Making my heart thump as fast as it could
when I see dreams of you in my slumber
I heard you say, 'who am I to you?
A fiction, a dream, or an actual human being?
From later I remember, my lips opening and voice echoing
Just to utter the statement I hold
Ya Ruhi! you are my soul!
I want you to trust my love flawlessly
Love that is made perfect by death
Love that does not die in the grave
You break my heart and split it into two
I wish I would never have fallen for a person like you
But just as rainfalls for the ocean and the sun falls for the moon
I fall for a person like you
I thought I would never regret falling for you
But now I wish I could undo all that I had done for you.

About this poem

This is one of the best poem written by me I believe. Although it was written as part of the course I was studying but its so close to my heart and I always dedicate this to people special in my life.

"Accuracy of speech generates love, peace, and sacredness. It's all about what the heart holds and how it chooses to deposit. I savor dissecting human emotions and penning them down as poems. I am studying Mphil English literature at a prestigious institute in Lahore. Besides writing poetry, I also wrote short stories and Limericks. Nowadays I am practising writing articles for blogs. Moreover, I love baking and cooking. more…
