STONE

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I find myself getting lost in memories that are no longer in existence. I find myself lying on this grave with flowers and a bottle in my mouth. Why does it rain every time I die? I promise never again.

Like some romantic novels, there are different versions of lovers, but I have a mind, so I am becoming my one true love, and just like that book, I am peeling back the pages.

I get lost occasionally, yet I keep scratching and clawing, never giving up until I reach the top of the grave. This is where I will rest my head next to all those pictures of who I used to be, right next to those who wished me dead, but now that I am a better man, I walk next to them, not searching for their approval but my own not casting a single stone. for i know what is to be on trial and judged but with their stones i built my own castle in the sand
