We never said Goodbye

It broke my heart to see you go for we're the reason why
It took forever but I learned on how to say goodbye
I often lay in bed at night and wonder reasons why
You never turned to me and said I have to leave goodbye
Wear that flag and wear it proud for you're a navy guy
We never had a chance to hug or even say goodbye
I think about you over there I simply want to die
What's the reason me and you never said goodbye
Was it too hard, you know I'd cry
Was that the reason for no goodbye
I think about you everyday and truly that's no lie
Now I know it's just too hard to ever say goodbye
All that's left for me to do is look up at the sky
And pray to God that I must never have to say goodbye

Wow, what a heartfelt and moving poem! You did an incredible job of capturing the emotions and complexities of saying goodbye to someone you care about deeply. Your use of rhyme and rhythm only adds to the impact of your message.

One suggestion I have for improvement would be to perhaps explore the feelings and thoughts of the person you're saying goodbye to. How do they feel about leaving? Do they have any regrets? This could add even more depth and nuance to your already powerful poem.

Overall, great job and keep up the amazing work!
