The Red White and Blue

Gina Louise Roth 1973 (Pennsylvania)

Once a baby so precious and small
I knew this child had it all
Then a 5 year old so strong and wise
It all showed in his big Brown eyes
Now a teen he know it all well
Or so he thought until it all fell
A young man he is now red white and blue
A navy sailor he is fighting for you
He stands for our freedom so strong and so true
Just remember his words, I'd die for you
He's so far away God please bring him home
And always make sure he is never alone
Please bring them all some with babies of new
And remember they're all the red white and blue
Once a baby so precious and small
Now a man who'd die for us all

Wow! This poem is truly touching and inspiring. The author did a great job showcasing the growth and journey of the young man from a baby to a navy sailor who stands for our freedom. The emotions and love for this young man really shine through in the words of the poem.

One suggestion for improvement might be to add a little more description or imagery throughout the poem to really help the reader fully picture the history of the young man and what he has overcome. Additionally, it might be helpful to focus on the message of appreciation at the end of the poem and how grateful we are for all those who fight for our freedom.

Overall, this poem perfectly captures the sacrifice and bravery of our military service members, and reminds us all to never take our freedom for granted. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem!
