Gray Cat
When I was a boy. There was so much joy
Not a care in the world. Nothing to bring
me down. Playing the game of tag night
and day to pass the time away.
Sitting by this piece of concrete. Seeing
the school lights flicker. Not a care in the
world such a perfect night. I light a cigaret to
sense a bit of warmth upon my lips.
A blurry vision seeing
you come out of the dark down the alley way
The way you where discovering the night. Jumping at a silver gate. You walked across sitting by a mail box. You licked your paws.
When you turned to me and looked. In
your eyes I can see. A whole another truth
to wonder. The roses that swayed that got
caught in rain.
They whispered and said that you and me are one. Gray cat getting wet kept me
company. Kept looking in the gentle rain.
Beneath the trees he hides.
Ever since you went away. I ask myself
Why? I still don't know. The window to
my heart remains open. A bigger hole
without your love. Although the gray cat carries my pain.
Gray cat stares and shares the same
sky with you and me. Knows, it will not
go back home if, your not here. When I am not safe he comforts me.
I only know that tonight is a beautiful
night. To feel that when I look up and
imagine you among one of those stars.
It only makes me smile.
The Gray cat sad and blue. Never forgets
that you were mine. He must know how
much I suffer. Knows the pain, Knows the
reason why he is here. Doesn't mind the
rain.
Because when I look in his eyes there is
a single tear.
Oh dear, my dear, my darling life.
Reflection of the moon that laughs.
It pranks with my emotions.
If loving you is mistaken. Then it is my
fault that I loved you from the moment
we met. Deep down I knew.
Then What life wanted to be. Now I don't know.
The Gray cat doesnt look away. Let's me
know I am here to comfort you, the same
sky your dreaming on. You and me we are
the same. I will not return home if your
not there. If you're in pain I won't leave your
side.
I only know that tonight is a beautiful night.
To feel that when I look up and picture you
among one of those stars. It only makes me
smile.
The Gray cat sad and blue. Never forgets
that you were mine. Doesn't mind the rain.
Knows the reason, knows my pain. He is
there to stay.
More and forever-more you will be part of
my eyes. So pure these tear drops like
spring rain. In these stray cats eyes.
I see even though he hides in the dark.
Knows my soul, Knows my pain. That
single tear drop that hangs in his eyes.
The Gray cat sad and blue. Never
forgets that you were mine. More and
forever you will be in my eyes.
The Gray cat sad and blue. Never forgets
that you were mine. Doesn't mind the rain
Knows the reason, Knows my pain. Jumps
down and walks away. Knows the truth.
I only know that tonight is a beautiful night.
I tuck on my collar jacket and shake away the
rain walking away through the rain. Looking back. To see the Gray cats shadow fade away in the rain.
Only to feel an ounce better. To know he is
always there. The Gray cat getting caught in
the rain. He never turns away I go back
home I turn back the school lights keep on
flickering. I see the Gray cat in the reflection
of a puddle. Till its time to come home, he will stay by my window. Till I dream away.

About this poem
I wrote this a couple nights ago. I sit on a piece of concrete that sticks out of the street corner of a house. Where I sometimes go to think and have a smoke. I saw a familiar face that always comes out at night. Where we locked eyes and found my inspiration Sad, relaxing hope you enjoy.
