Just a Rag doll

Here I am on this shelf collecting
 dust. A worn out shirt.
Faded blue jeans and one less
 button to worry about.

 Stitches coming undone. Making
my insides coil up into a bunch
Putting on a brave face in the dark.
 Misshapen and contorted.

I remember the day you carried
me to school on your handle bars.
Fell off into a puddle. So cold I was.
Mud smeared on my face. You
pick me up. Did your best to
dry me off left a stain. Till this day.

Just a ragdoll I am. Sitting on this
shelf. Next to a book of physics.
 The never-ending space.
 Nuclear atoms.
 Thesis on genetics. Two
faded baseball cards and a snow
 globe of Venice.

 Years have come and gone.
 Seen you grown. Know your
 secrets when you cried.
 Seen so many moon lights.

Time never seizes and yet, I am
 still here collecting dust mites.
 Just a Rag doll.
Always here when you need me.
To sleep. To dream. To say your
 Good nights...
