True

Shawnice Pate 1991 (Brooklyn)

If people cannot handle my truth, I let them down easily.
When you are true to people, you can see right through me.
My words are honest and true about what I must do
I once thought lies made people happy because it’s cool.
I have seen the false
Even when I fall
My fall's departure led me to become wiser now.
I know the lies are harmful and it’s good to know how
Change to the truth and you feel the same.
No more mind games.
