Hi Mum

Hi Mum, It’s Mother’s day
and I miss you heaps you know
too many years have passed
did you see your grandkids grow?

The years have been so crazy
some good times and some blue
and did you also know
you’re now a Great Nan too?

So what you been doing
on the other side of the veil?
where there’s no more pain and suffering
gee I hope you can get mail

I know you see it all
and are probably always near
but doesn’t stop me wishing
you were actually here

You are with your Mum and Dad
and my brother too
but it’s never been the same here
I miss you Mum, I do

I will treasure the special moments
the ones that made me smile
take care of yourself over there mum
And I will see you in a while.

About this poem

You never know what you've really got until it's gone. I'm just a girl, wishing her Mum was still around, she was taken too soon.
