And You Were Mine...

I had a dream of you last night
In my arms I held you tight
Then the music started playing
Sent our bodies gently swaying

In that breathless bit of time
I was yours and you were mine
And in those arms, I was home
Never more to be alone

I looked into your beautiful eyes
And heard an angel’s loving sighs
I kissed the lips that spoke my name
And knew I’d never be the same

As we danced I whispered low
And told you how I love you so
In your pretty eyes I could see
The love you have for only me

The song was over, as the dance
One last kiss, one last chance
To hold you close, to say goodbye,
And turn away before we cry

My eyes, I open, wet with tears
And on the radio, I hear
The song we danced to one last time
When I was yours, and you were mine.

Life is like that. Sweet and bitter. Full more mainly by the bitter memories.
