My Euphoria

Happiness flows
through my window last night,
I tried to follow and chase
as it floats around.

I watch it, like a cat
I walk into it,
and clasp my hands around it—
Things felt strange;
My body never felt so calm
My mind had never been so quiet,
not for an endless night
not for a lifetime.

Listening to a therapeutic song
Abruptly recall that night.
This song was exact
but the weather is different;

"Who sent me this orb of
happiness?" I whispered.

At that exact moment,
I was starving for spirituality,
purpose and something that'll
nourish me;

I forcely put it
into a rusty box,
locked it with my key,
for it is time to sleep
as the world snores peacefully;

I wake up,
and find it cold— mourn,
by my quiet pillow.
My mind said,
"it was just a dream"

Then one day I realized,
that dream taught me
that life depends upon
the quality of my thoughts;
It gave me the ability to
be contented, move with
clarity and wisdom;

Seeing my little kids running around
and laughing endlessly.
Before, my heart was hefty
but now I can fin'lly say I'm happy.

They are the reason
I no longer want
to chase happiness,
rather I want my euphoria
in the middle of my happenings.
