Analysis of On which I Ponder
Chase Walker 1986 (Virginia Beach)
So many thoughts trying to escape,
As I stare at a blank piece of paper.
My pen comes out; my mind goes blank.
Trying to recall thoughts now rather than later,
The longer I stare the less I recall,
As thoughts anew begin to wander,
Wondering now if I had great thoughts at all,
Or if it’s nonsense on which I ponder.
Escaping my mind are words of nonsense,
As confusion takes its toll.
How did this begin? When did it commence?
Is all I think nonsensical?
Has sanity gone away with the wind?
Just as water when it's turned to vapor.
Or does nonsense make sense in the end?
As I stare at a blank piece of paper.
