To Remove a Kidney Stone

Sweating profusely, don’t know exactly why, I can’t tell if it's hot or if it’s cold
In a hospital bed, I came here on my own, should have been here days ago I’m told
Dez is at my side crying as she wipes away the sweat, I still don’t understand what’s going on
The nurses, now frantic, running around like idiots yelling at each other because I didn’t respond
I wasn’t talking to them, there were so many, the anxiety now consumes
With Dez at my side, a nurse at my feet, behind me death looms
I can hear them yelling, they’re telling Dez to leave, I’m asking please no
Then, there it was, they went ahead and did it, my body suddenly froze
Fear overtakes, panic sets in as I tell myself it’s just a dream
Looking around the room, Desiree’s not there, at the top of my lungs I scream
I can’t move a muscle as six doc’s and nurses transfer me to another bed
Why are they doing this? This isn’t fun as I retreat into my head
I awake somewhere else, frantic, I can’t get up and stand
I must pee so bad; I notice I’m naked as I grab my junk with my hand
In walks a nurse she hands me a urinal, so I take it and start to pee
I pee so much that when I move it spills all over me
I yell out in anger; I scream out of fear, as a team of nurses wipes me clean
They switch me to a bed with clean sheets and a pillow and ask of me what I mean
I meant what I said but couldn’t remember what it was that I said
The nurse looks at me and wants me to believe that without them I would be dead
Every half-hour or so it appeared that I’d wake screaming as loud as I would
Calling her name, she wasn’t there but would be if she could
But the doctor’s and nurse’s think she’s the problem and keep her from coming near
So, every half-hour I’d call out her name hoping somehow, she’d hear
When it came time to leave, she came back to me, I would expect nothing less
She was such a sight to see, being there for me, so to her I address:
To my dearest Desiree, the love of my life, I will be your knight in shining armor
I will live for one thing and that one thing is you and I put that on all my honor
I will keep you from harm, not let others confuse you and try to lead you astray
I will show you my love and will love you without falter every single day
You have opened my eyes and helped me see lies and finally experience a love that’s true
I am blessed and so happy whenever you say I can spend the rest of life with you
