Analysis of Longing Hearts Reunite

Tammie Swinehart 1974 (Mooresville, IN)

In shadows cast by time's gentle hand,
A reunion awaits, as destiny planned.
Long miles have parted, the days slipped away,
Yet within my heart, your memory stayed.

To you, who's been absent from my sight,
I offer a treasure of love's pure light.
Across the chasm of days and years,
I reach out with all that my heart holds dear.

Every whisper of laughter, every tear we've shared,
Moments once lived, now eternally cared.
In the tapestry of memories woven strong,
I offer it all, to where you belong.

Like a river's journey to the waiting sea,
My love flows boundless, unconditionally.
Though absence may linger, distance subside,
My heart's warmth for you won't ever hide.

From laughter's echo to the silence we know,
In this heartfelt gift, my affections will show.
Though time has passed, my devotion remains,
A treasure of feelings, unaltered by chains.

So as we embrace, after the hours apart,
Know that you've lived in my every heart's part.
Every piece of myself, I gladly bestow,
To the one I've missed, and cherish so.

Tammie Swinehart

Not much to say. I live in a small town in Indianapolis and work full-time as a manager for an insurance company. I have written poems going back to grade school. They were all horrible, but fun and passed the time. I have journals of poems that go back 40 years. So now that I have more free time, I dig them out, clean them up while preserving the original thought and meaning behind them. more…
